Dipper Watching

The Dipper is an iconic bird of fast flowing northern rivers.Over the years I have enjoyed the company of dippers whilst fishing some of the trout rivers of Lancs and Yorks. The images above and those that follow were taken on the River Wyre at Scorton.Dippers are experts at catching insects, grubs and small fish whilst wading and exploring the nooks and crannies of these clear and fast flowing rivers.

The images were taken way back in 2009 and 2012. Sadly being disabled I am no longer able to get close to these wonderful birds but I have some wonderful memories and images to remind me of these magic times.
